The fridge sheet

Our one-page offline scaffold. As more skills are mastered, more of the sheet gets colored.

Use it for casual practice and an opportunity to show off.

Print the sheet Plain version (no faces)

US Letter, landscape. Print at 100% with margins set to none. On A4, choose fit-to-page.

For the learner and their adult

  • When the app introduces a new letter, colour in its key. Keep the colour light enough that the letter still shows through.
  • When the app introduces a letter team (sh, ch, a_e…), colour its box in the lower right.
  • The end-of-session screen will say when there's something new to colour in.
  • Connect sounds together and spell things out, often. Focus on the sounds, and don't worry when a spelling isn't by-the-book correct: kat for cat is a good spelling of the sounds.
